Advanced Melanoma Drugs
Two new drugs have been found to prolong the lives of people with advanced melanoma, representing a long awaited breakthrough in treatment for advanced melanoma. The drugs are Venurafenib and Ipilimumab, they represent two new approaches to fighting melanoma, one by targeting a specific genetic mutation that accelerates tumour growth and the other by stimulating the body's immune system to fight the disease. The drugs so far are not a cure for melanoma, but can add to life expectancy.
