Prevention And Early Detection Saves Lives
- Skin Cancer is the UK’s most common and fastest rising cancer.
- Over 230,000 cases of non-melanoma are diagnosed annually in the UK.
- 1 in 5 will develop at least one non-melanoma skin cancer.
- Over 17,500 cases of melanoma are diagnosed annually in the UK.
- 1 in 36 men / 1 in 47 women will be diagnosed with melanoma.
- Around 90% of all skin cancers are preventable.
- If detected diagnosed and treated early, almost all cases are curable.
SKCIN is the UK’s leading skin cancer awareness charity specialising in the prevention and early detection of skin cancer through educational intervention. Our mission is to save lives and suffering from melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, to prevent the disease, improve patient outcomes through early diagnosis and reduce the significant burden on the NHS.
